Liverpool City Council supports both incoming and outgoing sponsorship opportunities. Applying for Council Sponsorship Council’s outgoing corporate sponsorship program offers financial assistance to local organisations running community and charity events and awards ceremonies. Sponsorships are assessed on a number of essential and desirable criteria. Sponsorship requests must meet the essential criteria and will be more favourably considered if they meet two or more of the desirable criteria. One of the essential criteria for all sponsorships is that they 'Assist Council in achieving the objectives set out in Liverpool Directions 2006-2016'. If your event is being held in a public space (e.g. street, park, garden, reserve or Macquarie Mall) and/or has an expected attendance of over 300 people, you must also successfully complete and comply with Council’s Event Application Procedure. Incoming Sponsorship Sponsoring a Council event Liverpool City Council runs a number of major annual events including the City's Australia Day celebrations. In order to provide these events free to the community, Council actively seeks corporate sponsorship from the business community. Sponsoring a Council event provides businesses with a great opportunity to gain exposure within the Liverpool Local Government Area. In return for a cash or in-kind sponsorship, businesses are provided with a package of benefits including branding opportunities on event promotional material (e.g. event advertisements, flyers and posters) and, branding and attendance opportunities at the event. Council creates sponsorship packages tailored specifically for the potential sponsor.
