Community 2168 Project

Commencing in 1999, Community 2168 is a major community renewal and capacity building partnership located in Miller, Liverpool.  Community 2168 is one of the major community renewal initiatives in NSW and receives support from the state government, human service agencies, local government and the local community.

The project is proudly supported by Liverpool City Council. 

The Community 2168 project will focus on the following priorities from 2009 - 2012:

  • Community Engagement, Participation and Communication
  • Community Capacity and Governance
  • Community Safety and Wellbeing
  • Community Pride and Identity
  • Training and Sector Development

Community 2168 Management Committee  

The 2168 Management Committee oversees the implementation of the 2168 Strategic Plan and provides the future direction for the project.

The Community 2168 Management Committee:

The Community 2168 Management Committee would like to hear from residents about important community issues and matters of concern. The Community Issues Form, available for download, assists Community Representatives and Resident Representatives to raise matters with agencies from the Community 2168 Management Committee. Completed forms should be sent to the Community 2168 Management Committee two weeks prior to meeting dates. These reports will be followed up by the responsible agency and actions will be reported back at 2168 Management Committee meetings.

 

Please send completed forms two weeks prior to 2168 Management Committee meetings. The due dates for forms are 22 January, 5 March, 16 April, 28 May, 9 July, 20 July, 1 October and 12 November 2009. Send forms to:

Current Projects  

The Community 2168 Project develops its future direction through a three year strategic plan for the area.  The strategic plan is developed in consultation with local agencies and groups.  The plan is the guiding document for planning and delivering programs in the 2168 area.

Community 2168 eGroup - An email based network 

The Community 2168 Egroup was established to facilitate communication among local community workers or groups who have an interest or work in the 2168 postcode area of Liverpool. The 2168 postcode area includes the suburbs of Ashcroft, Busby, Cartwright, Green Valley, Heckenberg, Hinchinbrook, Miller and Sadleir.

The Egroup is an email based network which workers can join in order to send and receive information about activities, services, projects and much more.

If you are interested in joining the Egroup, email the Senior Project Officer – Community 2168.

Community 2168 Newsletter 

The Community 2168 Newsletter is a local newsletter that is produced by the Community 2168 Project and The Hub. Residents, community groups and organisations can contribute information and news to the newsletter. The newsletter has been produced for a number of years and is one of the main sources of local information for residents in the 2168 postcode area.

The newsletter is produced bi-monthly and is distributed through local agencies, shops and other outlets in the 2168 postcode area.

A call for articles is made through the Community 2168 Egroup and local residents and services are encouraged to contribute. If you want to contribute an article, please sent it in 12 pt arial font as a MS Word file to 2168newsletter@live.com
