The South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre Women in Business Mentoring Program offers a series of workshops on important areas of running a small business and provide an experienced business owner as a personal mentor to help participants achieve their business goals.

Workshop topics for the program include:

  • Business Planning
  • Financial Management & Key Performance Indicators
  • Marketing, Advertising & Strategic Selling
  • Technology & Innovation

Participants will be matched to a mentor best suited for their business and will have five hours of one-on-one mentoring sessions. How this is managed (e.g. face-to-face, Skype, phone, email) will be determined between the participant and their mentor.

Mentoring offers the opportunity to discuss any business-related issues participants may be facing. Mentors are successful business owners who are ready to make a contribution back to newer businesses in the area.

Participants must be committed to making a difference in their business and:

  • Own a full time small business or be a key employee wanting to participate in improvements to the business
  • Be prepared to commit to growing the business and achieving commercial success
  • Be prepared to work in group workshops and one-on-one mentoring in this program
  • Be able to identify a business challenge they need assistance with

Additional benefits of participating in the program include:

  • Networking with other Women in Business participants, mentors and course presenters
  • Access to the Business Enterprise Centre services and mentor network
  • Access to government and advisory reference information for small business
  • Sole Trader Membership to the South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre, valued at $220

Participant outcomes:

  • Produce a workable business plan for a sustainable business covering the above points
  • Track business employment and sales growth over a 12 month period

The South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre working in financial partnership with Liverpool City Council and the generous support of volunteer mentors are able to offer the program to the participants for the price of $220 (including a 12 month South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre membership).
