Too many times young people aren't involved in big developments. But Liverpool City Council is commited to involving young people in the planning process.
In fact, Council involved 500 young people in the planning process for the revelopment of the Liverpool CBD.
To make sure that young people had their say and were consulted, Council conducted a survey. We received responses from 500 young people (out of 1500) and they told us what activities and things they wanted in the CBD, where and when they wanted it, what were the problems in the CBD and how they would like to see the CBD.
This information was allocated and as a result we developed an Action Plan to address the issues young people raised. The CBD EXPOSED Action Plan can be downloaded by clicking on the highlighted link.
CBD EXPOSED Youth Event 2006
Liverpool City Centre came alive to CBD Exposed - the sound of local youth talent on Thursday 29 June 2007 at Macquarie Street Mall Stage.
Building on the model of Council’s Cultural Infusions held in the mall every Tuesday at lunchtime, CBD Exposed provided an opportunity for local young people to perform in front of a live audience and gain exposure for their talents and music.
The event featured rock, punk, alternative, hip hop and RnB, bands, groups and individual performers. Performers included No Talent, Konnected ONE, The Surge, Dancers and Sector 3.
CBD Exposed is an entertainment initiative developed from Council’s CBD Exposed Action Plan. The Plan aimed to investigate and develop opportunities for youth events in the Liverpool City Centre, in consultation with young people.
