Clean Up Australia Day is the largest community Environmental-event of it's kind in Australia.
Every year, on the first Sunday of March, hundreds of thousands of Australians help clean up their environment on Clean Up Australia Day.
Clean Up Australia Day for Schools
Clean Up Australia Day for Schools is a great opportunity for schools to be active in the local community. By getting involved in Clean Up, students learn about the impact of rubbish on our natural environment while enhancing their community service skills. Council supports schools who partake in Clean Up Australia Day for Schools by providing bags, gloves and free garbage collection.
This year 30 schools within the Liverpool Local Government Area registered with Council to take part in Clean Up Australia Day for Schools, which took place on Friday 27th March. Almost 3 tonnes of rubbish was collected! The schools which participated are:

Community Clean Up Australia Day Sites
This year 18 community groups registered to participate in Clean Up Australia Day in the Liverpool Local Government area. Council supported this worthwhile event by providing bags, gloves, sunscreen and garbage collection. Together the groups collected almost 4 tonnes of litter rubbish!

The next Clean Up Australia Day will be held on Sunday 7 March 2010.
Liverpool City Council urges everyone to play a part in sustaining Liverpool by joining Clean Up Australia Day. It's fun, easy and everyone can take part.
Clean Up Australia Day is a fantastic introduction to Council’s volunteer programs which provide people with an understanding and appreciation of their natural environment in a fun and social environment.
Everyone can take part. Individuals and local groups can either organise a clean up site or join an existing site. Participants are encouraged to bring sunscreen, a bottle of water and wear a hat and closed in shoes.
