Expression of Interest - Community Members for the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Board

Liverpool City Council is providing an opportunity for suitably qualified community members to express an interest in their appointment to the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Board.

The Casula Powerhouse is a multi-disciplinary arts centre located on the banks of the Georges River. The Centre consists of seven galleries, a 324 seat theatre, artist studios, a performance space, artist residency, ceramics studio, a climate controlled storage facility, as well as a series of permanent public artworks and café/bar facilities.

The Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is a cultural facility of Liverpool City Council. Liverpool is one of the largest growing local government areas in NSW covering 305 square kilometres with a population of approximately 200,000.

The Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Board meets bi-monthly and is an advisory Board to Liverpool City Council. The duration of the appointment of the community member will be from July 2017 until September 2020. This position will be eligible for reappointment.

The expression of interest should respond to each of the following key selection criteria and include a resume with details of relevant experience, professional qualifications, names and phone numbers of two referees who may be contacted. A contact phone number within business hours should also be provided.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Independence and objectivity.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the creative industries and the arts.
  3. Understanding of community cultural development and community engagement.
  4. Commitment to developing the creative industries in Liverpool.
  5. A specialisation in either marketing, business development, education, governance or cultural diversity.
