Council's dedicated Community Development Worker (CALD) provides information and advice on issues to the community, service providers and Council, and works to raise awareness of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) issues and develop relevant projects and support.
Some ways in which the community is supported include:
Convening the Liverpool Refugee and Migrant Interagency
Developing a cross-cultural training program for workers in Liverpool LGA
Organising Refugee Week events
Providing information and advice for CALD community groups
Developing best practice for communication between Liverpool City Council and CALD residents
Coordinating the Liverpool Migrant and Refugee Network E-group
Coordinates the Language Aide Program
Coordinates the Local Equity and Access Policy Statement (LEAPS) Taskforce
Coordinates the Discovery Tour Program
Organises Harmony Day events.
