Temporary  Road Closure of Norfolk Serviceway, Memorial Avenue to Bathurst Street, Liverpool 

Liverpool City Council wishes to advise that the section of Norfolk Serviceway between Memorial Avenue and Bathurst Street will be progressively closed to through traffic to allow pavement reconstruction works to be carried out. The progressive road closure will take effect from 30 January 2012 to 10 February 2012 between 8:00pm and 5:30am from Monday to Friday except for Thursday, when road closure will start from 9:30pm to allow for later shopping hours.

The reconstruction works form part of Council’s ongoing road reconstruction program to improve road conditions and extend pavement service life.

Traffic control measures will be implemented during construction and motorists are urged to observe all traffic signs, controls and directions.

Access to emergency service vehicles and local businesses will be maintained at all times during the works.

Council apologises for any inconvenience as a result of the above arrangement.

Expression of Interest 1-3 Hoxton Park Road, Liverpool 

Liverpool City Council wishes to receive expressions of interest for the following purposes:

• Purchase of the entire and/or a portion of the site;
• Lease of existing improvements and land; or
• Ground rental of the entire and/or a portion of the site;

The expressions of interest are on the basis that a portion of the subject property will be rezoned to ‘B6 Enterprise Corridor’ under the Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 2008.

Applications must be completely uploaded into the electronic tender box by the closing time. Applicants will receive a Successful Submission Receipt timed and dated upon completion. ROADS ACT 1993 LEASE OF PART OF PUBLIC ROAD 

Under Section 156 (2) of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given that Liverpool City Council has granted a lease for a period of five years of part of Reservoir Rd for car parking to the owners of Lot 1 Finlay Ave Mt Pritchard. The area leased adjoins Lot 1 Finlay Ave and is located on the corner of Reservoir Rd and Finlay Ave Mt Pritchard and contains an area of approximately 700 square metres.

ANNUAL FIRE SAFETY STATEMENTS 

An annual fire safety statement is required to be submitted by owners of all commercial, industrial and apartment buildings to Council and displayed prominently on the premises, ensuring that all essential fire services eg. hose reels, extinguishers, hydrants, fire doors, smoke alarms, wall wetting sprinklers are fully maintained and serviced annually in the event of an emergency.
 
In response to this legislative requirement, Council issued letters to 597 properties that have not provided a statement to Council. If you have not contacted Council in regard to these letters, Council Building Officers will be issuing Penalty Infringement Notices issued for late submission of an annual fire safety in accordance with Clause 177 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000.

ROADSIDE SPRAYING   

  • Chemical used is either Roundup Biactive or Gladiator 450 both of which use the active ingredient Glyphosate and are a group M Herbicide.
  • No withholding period for grazing stock is required.
  • Both classified as a non hazardous substance and a non dangerous good.
  • Reason for spraying is to ensure road shoulders (3m sprayed width) are clear to allow vehicles to pull off the road when necessary
  • Maintain bush fire exclusion zones to roads required for evacuation purposes.
  • Work is carried out every 4-5 weeks dependant on weather conditions’, if to windy or rain is immanent we will not spray.

The following roadside locations will be sprayed:

  • Badgerys Creek Road, Badgerys Creek
  • Fourth Ave, Austral
  • Devonshire Road, Kemps Creek
  • Wynyard Road, Rossmore
  • Edmondson Ave, Austral

  • Ferndale Road, Badgerys Creek
  • Taylors Road, Badgerys Creek
  • Jagelman Road, Badgerys Creek
  • Fifteenth Ave, Kemps Creek

SPORTING DONATIONS 


Council offers financial donations to individuals, teams and officials who achieve excellence in sport. Donations are for $100, $200 and $500 for regional, state and national representation respectively. To be eligible for a sporting donation, the application must be received before a representative event has taken place; the applicant must be a resident of Liverpool and have been selected or qualified to compete; and the event must be approved by the governing body or association. Additional criteria applies for officials and sporting clubs and are outlined in the application.
