Transporting of Loads

Safe loading of vehicles and restraint of loads are important in preventing injury to people and damage to property.

Here are some important facts about safe loading:

  • Ensure each load you transport is covered or restrained. Uncovered loads can spill onto the road and create litter and pollution.
  • Heavy objects, such as bricks, rocks, tree trunks, furniture and other items can dislodge and cause an accident or damage other vehicles on the road.
  • Loose bulk loads, such as soil and dirt, can blow from a vehicle and result in air pollution.
  • Items that protrude must be flagged and are limited as to how far they may protrude.

The safe loading of vehicles is vitally important in preventing injury to people and damage to property.

Safe loading and compliance information can be obtained from NSW Roads and Maritime Services Loads and Height Restrictions page.
