Local mentors to assist women in their business ventures

Liverpool women will be able to receive vital business advice from expert local mentors as part of Council’s Women in Business mentoring program.

Council has teamed up with the South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre to put together the program which includes mentoring, networking and workshops on business planning, financial management, marketing and technology.

“This mentoring program is a key element of Council’s Women in Business program that was launched earlier this year,” said Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller.

“We have put together a fantastic group of mentors to work with the women who sign up for the program.

“The mentors will meet with participants in regular sessions to provide advice and guidance based on their knowledge and experience.

“I encourage all local women who are looking to grow their business to register for this program.”

Fazila Farhad, Managing Director of Ibis Styles Sydney Lansvale, is one of the mentors in the program.

“They say behind every successful man is a woman, but behind every successful woman is her passion to succeed,” said Ms Farhad.

“I always say nothing is impossible to sell, and behind every business idea there needs to be creativity and drive based on a good business plan.

“Mentoring women to succeed locally would be a great opportunity for me use my experience in helping them take the first step into setting up a business.”

Council’s Women in Business program was launched at this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations, and aims to provide support to women through all stages of their business journey.
