Celebrate the new season with Spring Into Liverpool

Thursday 31 August 2017

Greenway Park is set to come alive with the annual Spring Into Liverpool festival on Saturday 16 September.

This hugely popular event is a celebration of the great outdoors and offers a wide variety of free family entertainment, including fitness demonstrations, cooking and gardening demos, rides, food trucks, and a free outdoor screening of the animated musical comedy hit, Sing!

“Spring Into Liverpool has become a real hit with local residents,” said Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller.

“Liverpool is much more than just the Liverpool CBD and I am very happy to be able to provide an event for our residents who live around West Hoxton and Carnes Hill, some of the fastest-growing areas of Sydney.

“The Carnes Hill Community and Recreation Precinct celebrated its first birthday recently and has become one of Council’s most popular facilities. Since Carnes Hill Library opened in July 2016 we have had more than 180,000 visitors or 500 people per day.

“The event runs from 12pm to 9pm and features $2 rides, food stalls, Spring into the Kitchen Stage, Spring Living Stage, Spring Active stage with free fitness sessions with Shannan Ponton,  and Liverpool LGA residents can have their dogs and cats microchipped for free.

“When the sun goes down there will be plenty of food trucks available, offering tasty treats so you and your family can settle in and enjoy an outdoor screening of the animated musical comedy hit, Sing!” said Mayor Waller.

“There will also be a range of Council services on offer, including the Mayor and Councillors’ mobile office, community development and planning demonstrations, free native plants to take home and amazing native animal displays.

“If you are looking for something inexpensive to do with the kids, bring the whole family down to Greenway Park for Spring Into Liverpool.”

Free parking is available at Greenway Park Community Centre, off Carmichael Drive, and there are buses from Liverpool Station.
