Liverpool hosts South West Sydney’s largest disability expo

28 November 2017

South West Sydney’s largest disability expo is set to attract more than 3000 people to Liverpool’s Whitlam Leisure Centre on 8 and 9 December 2017.

The South West Disability Expo runs over two days and features a variety of performers, entertainment, exhibitor Q&A sessions and key speakers from the sector, including National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Director of Engagement, Mary Hawkins.

“There will be more than 120 exhibitors at the Expo so everyone will have an opportunity to test-drive the latest technology and equipment, talk to government agencies and advocacy groups and find out everything they need to know about the NDIS,” said Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller.

“Liverpool City Council has a strong commitment to ensure that people living with disability in the community are connected to services and support that meet their needs.

“We aim to improve the inclusion of people with disability and ensure that they have access to updated and relevant information.

“There will also be opportunities to have some fun, with much-loved Australian comedian Tim Ferguson launching the event with the Minister for Disability Services, Ray Williams.”

The South West Disability Expo is an initiative of 4community, which offers services in marketing, consulting and fundraising for community, disability and non-profit organisations, with support from Liverpool City Council, Canterbury Bankstown Council, Fairfield City Council, Australian Foundation for Disability and the Australian Government’s National Disability Coordination Officer (NDCO) Program.
