Youth Week set to take off in Liverpool

12 April 2018

A range of exciting activities will be held across Liverpool as part of Youth Week (13-22 April), including live performances, a fitness challenge, an outdoor movie screening and an art exhibition.

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller encouraged young people to get involved and join in the activities on offer.

“The purpose of Youth Week is to celebrate the contribution that young people make to the community,” Mayor Waller said.

”One of the highlights is Street Legacy VII at the Street University in Speed Street on 17 April.

“The people at the Street University in Liverpool really know how to put on a great show, so I encourage everyone to come along and watch the dance competition, singing competition and enjoy a free barbecue.

“I am also looking forward to seeing the winning entry in the prestigious Borrowed Wall Art competition at Liverpool Library; while the outdoor screening of ‘Moana’ at Carnes Hill Library on 19 April is sure to be a big hit.

“Liverpool has a young and vibrant community and I am proud that Council is able to offer these fantastic events to thank them for their contribution to Liverpool.”

Youth Week events are free and designed for young people aged 12 to 24 years. All are welcome to attend. Full list of events at
