Environmental Health Unit

The Environmental Health section of Liverpool City Council is responsible for implementing environmental health policies, monitoring compliance through inspections and investigations.

Examples of the programs undertaken by the unit include:

  • Health inspections including food premises, hairdressers, beauty and skin penetration premises, public swimming pools & spas, caravan parks, mortuaries, cooling towers & warm water systems.

  • On site sewage management system auditing

  • Complaint investigation pertaining to unhealthy premises, noise, air and water pollution

  • Environmental audits of industrial premises

  • Development of policies, codes or fact sheets on public and environmental health

Fees are charges are applicable for the registration, inspection and monitoring of premises in accordance with Council’s Management Plan.
