Growing Liverpool 2021: Community Strategic Plan

Growing Liverpool 2021 is the Community Strategic Plan for the Liverpool. It outlines what the people of Liverpool have said is important for their area.  It is a plan for the whole city, not just the Council. Council is a leader and custodian of the plan and is one of the parties responsible for its delivery.

Directions for Liverpool were initially identified in a plan called Liverpool Directions which was developed from 2004 to 2006. Liverpool Directions served as a starting point for Growing Liverpool 2021 and was updated on the basis of a recent community engagement program.

Growing Liverpool 2021 is the Council’s highest level plan. It identifies the community’s key objectives for the area as collected from our community engagement processes. It also includes strategies on how to achieve those objectives. This document and related documents have been prepared in accord with the Planning and Reporting Guidelines for Local Government issued by the State government known as “integrated planning”. These require that the Council integrate the Community Strategic Plan with a 4 year Delivery Program and a 1 year Operational Plan. Delivery Program and Operational Plan

Following endorsement of the Community Engagement Strategy in 2010 a wide range of methods were used to involve the community in the development of the plan in the period July to October 2010. These included engagement booths, surveying at events, on line surveys and a randomly selected telephone survey. A draft of the plan was placed on public exhibition from 2 to 30 March 2011. Following consideration of the submissions received the Plan was endorsed by the Council at its meeting on 18 April 2011.
