Household chemical collection 2012

Household chemical Cleanout

Hazardous materials including oil and chemicals

Should NEVER go in your garbage bin or down the sink!

Every year, Council works with the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage to provide Liverpool residents with an opportunity to dispose of their unwanted chemicals at no cost to the resident.

On Sunday 12 February 2011, Liverpool City Council hosted an Office of Environment & Heritage (OEH) Household Chemical CleanOut Day in the car park of the Administration Building located at Collimore Park, Collimore Avenue, Liverpool. The collection day was a great opportunity for residents to clean out their cupboards, garages, sheds and laundries of unwanted chemicals and drop them into Council to be recycled or disposed of correctly.

More than 26,978kg of chemicals were collected on the day, including 8,023kgs of water-based paint, 5,233kgs of oil-based paint, 4,756kg of oil, 3,018 kgs of batteries and 1,806kgs of propane gas cylinders from 629 residents.
