How does a clean up work?
To book Council's Clean Up Service, call 1300 36 2170. Each residence can have two free clean up services per calendar year.
Council provides two types of free collections of larger household waste:
- Metal and whitegoods
- General cleanup waste
You must arrange collection before placing out your material. You will be provided with an authorised collection sticker. Please book at least two weeks in advance.
Metal and whitegoods collection
Council will collect up to three whitegoods or one cubic metre of metal. This material is recycled. Please remove door seals from fridges and freezers before collection.
- General cleanup waste collection
Council provides up to two collections per year of two cubic metres of general waste.
All items for collection must be placed out the night before the arranged collection date.

What Council will collect
Council will collect the following items in the household cleanup service:
- Old furniture
- Carpet (one room only)
- Whitegoods and metal
- Garden waste (in bundles)
- Fence paling's (small amounts)
- General household repairs waste
Drums with lids or tops removed
- Loose materials (place in an open box).
What Council will NOT collect
- Hazardous chemicals
- Recyclable materials, including cardboard
- Gas bottles or cylinders
- Building and demolition waste
- Asbestos or fibro (any type)
- Oil, paints or other liquids
- Car parts, including tyres
- Stone, earth or concrete
- Broken window panes or sheet glass
- Cutting with thorns (e.g. rose bushes).
If too much material or the wrong material is put out it will not be collected. You will be asked to fix the problem before it can be collected.

Your closest waste management facilities
Fees may apply for certain items.
All materials are accepted by WSN Environmental Solutions (phone 1300 651 116):
- Lucas Heights Facility - New Illawarra Road, Lucas Heights
- Eastern Creek Facility - Wallgrove Road, Eastern Creek
- Jacks Gully Facility - Richardson Road, Narellan.
All materials (except garden/kitchen waste, asbestos, liquid waste and car waste) are accepted at:
- Brandown Waste Facility (phone 9826 1256) - Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek
- Glenfield Waste Disposals (phone 9601 8766) - Cambridge Ave, Glenfield.

Where to dispose of other material properly
You can take the following unwanted items yourself to your closest waste management facility:

Take oils, solvents and paint (up to 20 litres) to WSN facilities. Other hazardous chemicals can be disposed of at a chemical Clean Out event. Phone 1300 787 870 for information and dates. Return expired medicines to chemists.

Recyclable materials |
Take these to WSN for free (load Limits apply). You can also take cardboard to Visy Recycling at Smithfield.

Gas bottles and cylinders |
Take up to two household gas cylinders (LPG, fire extinguishers) to WSN facilities for free. See your local petrol station for a "swap-n-go' exchange service.

Tyres |
Take these to WSN facilities. Check prices first.

Asbestos or fibro (any type) |
Phone WSN waste facilities on 1300 651 116 for more information. Such loads must be pre-booked one day in advance and need special precautions.

Building and demolition waste including stone, earth and concrete |
Take pre-sorted loads of brick, concrete, roof tiles, terracotta pipes to most local waste facilities at reduced charges for recycling. Brandown and Glenfield also accept separated sand, sandstone, soil, clay and timber.

Mulch them or take pre-sorted loads of garden organics to most local waste facilities at reduced charges for recycling |
