Reporting to the Manager Traffic and Transport, you will manage and implement Council’s parking strategy projects to achieve corporate objectives and to ensure that parking meters are effectively and efficiently delivered to standards that meet customer expectations.
You will have experience and the ability to research, analyse and provide clear, high level advice on complex issues relating to parking services together with experience in preparing reports and submissions. You will have qualifications in a relevant discipline and experience in managing service contracts. Your communications skills will be excellent and you will be able to present information to the public and Council.
This position has a salary range of $76,580.15 to $83,912.27 pa and a leaseback vehicle may be negotiated. Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.

An opportunity exists for a dedicated environment professional to contribute to the development, delivery and review of the Environment and Sustainability Team program, which addresses issues relating to Environmental Sustainability and Natural Resources Management.
You will prepare, implement and review natural resources based strategies, policies and guidelines, provide advice in relation to development and project proposals with a potential ecological impact and provide guidance to the community/Council within the context of the team program.
You will have a working knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation, policies, guidelines and strategies, as well as the principles associated with Ecological Sustainability. You will have experience in providing specialist ecological advice, contributing to the preparation, review and implementation of environment related strategies/policies/guidelines and an ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science or related field are required.
This position has an hourly rate range of $34.4984 to $37.7962. Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.
Employment could be offered for less than 35 hours per week depending on the successful applicant’s circumstances.

environment volunteer supervisor Ref: 2012/0889
1x Temporary up to 12 Months Part Time - 14 hours per week - Saturday and Sunday
The Sustainable Environment unit develops strategies and policies, providing advice in the areas of sustainability, natural resource management and waste management. It also undertakes environment rehabilitation and conservation programs for Council, including delivery of Council’s environment levy program “The Environment Restoration Plan” and bushland and weed management.
This position provides supervision to environment volunteers, in particular weekend environment groups and some community tree planting activities in accordance with Council’s Environment Volunteer Program.
You will have Certificate III qualifications in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent, together with demonstrated experience in bush regeneration and supervision of volunteers and community groups. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and you will have accreditation in chemical application, handling and storage.
This position has an hourly rate range of $27.5349 to $30.0853. Hours worked on the weekend will attract penalty rates in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2010. Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.

Work Experience
Ensure your application for work experience includes the following:

Please note that Council offers a maximum period of 10 weeks work experience. However you may request a longer period of work experience if it is a requirement of your studies. Please be as specific as possible and do not state for the area administration or engineering as there are many departments and positions in Council that have these types of roles.

If not, you will need to arrange insurance with an insurance broker and will only need to provide a copy of a quote at this stage.
