The Liverpool City Sports Committee is a committee that represents sports and sporting clubs of the Liverpool local government area.

Each sport that has over 100 registered members has one representative on the committee. All other sports (i.e. with less than 100 registered

members) are represented jointly by a single representative. There are also representatives from the Liverpool Police Local Area Command, 

Green Valley Local Area Command, Liverpool Public School Sports Association (PSSA) and Sydney South West Area Health Service, plus three

Council representatives.

The Committee’s objectives are:

• To act as a point of communication between Council officers and the sporting community
• Foster the appreciation, development and maintenance of sporting facilities, clubs and opportunities in Liverpool
• Assist clubs, where possible, in the application process for grants
• Make recommendations to Liverpool City Council in respect to Capital Works Projects relating to sporting grounds and facilities
• Make recommendations to Liverpool City Council in respect to maintenance
• Make recommendations to Liverpool City Council in respect to the Sporting Donations and Sporting Grants programs
• Assist in the promotion of sport in Liverpool
• Actively encourage ethical practice and the principles of fair play to all participants, officials, coaches, volunteers and spectators.
