2 October - Celebrate Children’s Week 2009 - Liverpool Children’s Festival
Macquarie Mall will beam with excitement on Saturday, 31 October 2009 from 10am-2pm for the Liverpool Children’s Festival to celebrate the rights of children to enjoy childhood. The Festival will be held as part of Children’s Week, which is an annual event celebrated in Australia during the fourth week of October.

28 September - The ‘King of Liverpool’ at the Regional MuseumLiverpool Regional Museum is proud to present the King of Liverpool exhibition based on Thomas Moore. Established as one of the largest landowners and meat producers in the colony, and was appointed a Magistrate by the founder of Liverpool Governor Lachlan Macquarie, in 1810 until he passed away in 1840.
As school holidays kick into full swing in early October, a range of fun outdoor and educational activities are on offer at Council’s Libraries and the Casula Powerhouse from the 6-15 October 2009.
Improvements and upgrades to Liverpool’s CBD stormwater drainage system are nearing completion. This $6 million project will significantly increase pipe system capacities, and is expected to alleviate flooding within the CBD.
Federal Government Infrastructure Funding of $1.258 million has recently seen 11 infrastructure projects completed by Council throughout the Liverpool Local Government Area.
The Georges River Combined Council’s Committee (GRCCC) has recently received $210,000 of Federal Government funding to conduct a catchment wide River Health monitoring program to determine the health of the Georges River.
1 September - See Kurdish and Iranian Films at Casula PowerhouseCasula Powerhouse presents two short film festivals, produced by Cinewest, this September. On Friday 25 September, two film screenings which include: 12th International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults (also known as the Auburn International Film Festival), 1-3pm and The First and the Last Experimental International Film Festival 2002-2022, 8pm.

In May 1999 Council endorsed a Youth Strategy that included the establishment of the Liverpool Youth Council (LYC). The Liverpool Youth Annual Report for 2009 has been released, which highlights many achievements over the past 12 months.

the world’s fastest child. The production is by Patch Theatre Company, one of
Australia’s leading professional theatre companies specialising in theatre for young

10 June - Mil-Pra Exhibition and Art Awards
The 17th Annual Mil-Pra Aboriginal Exhibition and Art Awards will launch with a competition open to all Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people living in NSW & ACT. The theme "
Elders Knowing" will influence the artists to submit artwork that honours the Indigenous elders and their teachings.
The popular art exhibition will showcase artwork inspired by vibrant influences of the Asia Pacific Region. Each artist will interpret the theme in their own unique way using an array of media including painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.
