What is the Community Profile?
The Community Profile, which is a separate website to this one, contains a lot of information about the Liverpool area including:
- Population
- Age
- Income
- Education
You can also use the information in more sophisticated ways. For example:
- Childcare facilities can be planned on the basis of the ages of children in an area
- Trends can be identified in terms of people moving in and out of an area
- Grant applications can be made on the basis of economic data available
- Indicators such as car usage and internet access can be accessed.
The Liverpool City Community Profile uses information from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census of Population and Housing which is undertaken every 5 years. Information from 1991, 1996 and 2001 Censuses have been included.
You may have participated in a census so will know that it covers many areas of our lives including work, study, the languages we speak, the religions we follow and where we were born. If you are interested in finding out more about census, please visit the ABS website.
