Roads and Motorways

Many former rural roads in the Liverpool local government area are now seeing increased usage due to residential and commercial development.  In particular the roads surrounding the future Western Sydney Airport, Western Sydney Priority Growth Area and South West Priority Growth Area are expected to experience significantly increased usage.  A number of these roads are being upgraded by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).

Key information and community updates can be found on the Roads and Maritime Service website:

M9 Outer Western Orbital

The NSW government is also investigating the feasibility of an outer orbital motorway in the vicinity of The Northern Road alignment. Currently the process involves identifying and preserving an area of land now, so it is available for future transport use as western Sydney grows and changes.  At this stage the project is in the initial planning stages of investigation a suitable corridor for the orbital. Additional information can be found at Transport for NSW.
