The Planning Enforcement Unit is an arm of Council's Statutory Land Planning Department. The unit's primary role is to investigate and monitor unauthorised development including, illegal landfill and unauthorised business activities, and to monitor compliance of conditions of consent for approved development.
The unit is responsible for undertaking legal action on the behalf of Council in the Land and Environment and Local Court.
The unit is also responsible for the development of community education in respect to environmental and development issues.
