EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST APPLICATIONS FOR PERMANENT HIRERS
Council is calling for applications from community organisations or individuals interested in hiring Council's community facilities (hall and/or meeting room) on a permanent basis for a two-year period from 1 January 2009 until 31 December 2010.
Council is committed to a fair, open and transparent process in relation to the allocation of space within its Community Facilities.
Applicants will be requested to provide details on how their programs will meet the needs of the local community. Applications will be assessed by Council’s Community Services Department and agreements will be prioritised for applicants who can demonstrate their programs community benefits.
Council’s Community Facilities Fees and Charges will be applicable during the terms of the agreement as per Council’s Management Plan.
All existing permanent hirers of Council’s community facilities will need to submit an application for this two-year period, as current agreements will expire on 31 December 2008.

NOMINATE FOR ORDER OF LIVERPOOL AWARDS
The Order of Liverpool awards are presented annually by Council to recognise the achievement of excellence in and/or contributions to all forms of human endeavour which have enhanced the quality of life in Liverpool City.
Residents, ratepayers and organisations in the Liverpool local government area that have made a significant voluntary contribution over a number of years to the Liverpool community can be nominated in one or more of the following categories: civic, community, recreation and sports or commerce and industry. Nominees cannot apply on their own behalf.
All nominations received are assessed by the Order of Liverpool Advisory Committee and a report is then prepared for consideration by Council.
Award recipients and their nominators will be advised by mail during November. Due to special circumstances concerning the new Council the awards will be presented at a ceremony in February 2009, to which successful recipients and their nominators will be invited.
Nomination forms are available from Council’s Administration Centre, Customer Service Centre at Liverpool City Library and online at www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au.

REGISTER YOUR EVENT FOR LIVERPOOL'S BICENTENARY
Liverpool City is only two years The Liverpool City Bicentenary Committee is calling for registration of interest for activities and celebrations to commemorate Liverpool's Bicentenary in 2010.
Liverpool City is only two years away from celebrating 200 years since Governor Lachlan Macquarie founded Liverpool.
Liverpool’s Bicentennial celebrations aspire to deliver a diverse and memorable program of events for the whole community to enjoy. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on our past and look to the future.
Through active participation, commitment and involvement of community groups, business organisations and the people of Liverpool, the celebrations will deliver an appreciation of history, a sense of community renewal, a legacy for future generations and promote Liverpool nationally.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - USE OF LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL'S COMMUNITY FACILITIES FOR RAMADAN EVENTS DURING SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2008
Liverpool City Council is committed to a fair and transparent process in relation to the allocation of space within its community facilities (halls and meeting room space).
Accordingly, Council is now calling for Expressions of Interest from community groups who wish to utilise Council’s community facilities for Ramadan 2008.
A program has been implemented to ensure access and equity issues are addressed. The program is as follows: 1. Council is identifying available halls/facilities that may accommodate hirers for this period. 2. Council will call for Expressions of Interest. 3. Council will assess the applications received and if there are a number of applications for the one site, Council’s Community and Recreation Panel will allocate community facilities after assessing them against the set selection criteria. 4. Council will advise the groups in writing of the outcome of the allocation.

ENVIRONMENT RESTORATION SITE WORKS - ROUND 2
Council is currently in the process of selecting eight sites for bush regeneration projects in Liverpool as part of the Environment Restoration Plan Program. The proposed projects are primarily bush regeneration works and will include weed removal, mulching, planting of locally native plants, and some rubbish removal.
Council is inviting suggestions of parks or reserves in the Liverpool local government area to be the focus for works under Council’s Environment Restoration Plan. All suggested sites will go through Council’s site selection process to prioritise sites for restoration works.
Submissions should include the suggested park or reserve name and site location, along with your contact name and number and be sent to Liverpool City Council, Environment Restoration Coordinator, Locked Bag 7064, Liverpool BC NSW 1871 or email szczur@liverpool.nsw.gov.au by Friday 5 September 2008.

CHILDREN'S WEEK 2008 - REGISTER YOUR EVENT
Celebrate National Children's Week from 18-28 October 2008.
Liverpool City Council, in cooperation with community representatives, has recently started planning for events in the Liverpool local government area for Children's Week 2008.
At this stage we are interested in hearing from people/organisations who:

LIVERPOOL CONTRIBUTIONS PLAN 2001 LIVERPOOL CONTRIBUTIONS PLAN 2008 – EDMONDSON PARK
UPDATE OF LAND COMPONENT OF DEVELOPER CONTRIBUTIONS
(Section 32 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000)
Notice is hereby given that the land component of developer contributions has been revised for facilities in the following areas. The land component of developer contributions as shown in Liverpool Contributions Plan 2001 and Liverpool Contributions Plan 2008 – Edmondson Park is increased by the factor shown next to the relevant facilities. The factors are estimated by dividing the latest average land value by original average land value (for prime residential land) in accordance with section 2.8 of Liverpool Contributions Plan 2001 and section 3.7.6 of Liverpool Contributions Plan 2008 – Edmondson Park.

LIVERPOOL LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL pLAN 2008 Council at its meeting on 5 May 2008 resolved to adopt the various strategies and proceed with the making of comprehensive Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 2008 (LLEP 2008).
The comprehensive plan applies to all the land within the Liverpool local government area (LGA). The main purpose of the updated Liverpool local environmental plan is to establish an appropriate planning framework to deliver the identified aims and vision for Liverpool’s future and to provide appropriate land uses and development standards within the local government area.
Council has a responsibility to all residents to ensure that development and building work is planned and monitored in a responsible and sustainable manner. The new comprehensive LLEP 2008 is also to rezone land in accordance with the standard instrument order issued by the State Government. The LLEP 2008 is in accordance with the directions of the State Government.
The LLEP 2008 is set to become the principal environmental planning instrument by mid 2008. The plan accommodates the growing needs of Liverpool over the next 25 years. Council is also amalgamating 17 rezonings and seven deferred matters in LLEP 2008.
The LLEP 2008 will be supported by Liverpool’s consolidated Development Control Plan (DCP) which provides guidelines on detailed aspects of development. The DCP will be on public exhibition over the coming months.

EDMONDSON PARK - LIVERPOOL LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN 1997 AMENDMENT NO. 114 AND DEVELOPMENT CONTROL PLAN NO. 61 (Clauses 70 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979,Clauses 21 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation, 2000)
In March 2007, Council resolved to prepare and exhibit an amendment to the Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 1997, and Contributions Plan and prepare and exhibit a draft Development Control Plan for Edmondson Park. At its meeting of 17 December 2007 Council resolved to:
• Proceed with the making of draft Local Environmental Plan Amendment No 114; and • Adopt Development Control Plan No 61 – Edmondson Park in accordance with Clause 21 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000
The above mentioned Local Environmental Plan Amendment No. 114 was formally gazetted on 9 May, 2008. A copy of the government gazette is available on the Department of Planning Website: www.planning.nsw.gov.au
The amendment to the Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 1997 seeks to rezone land in Edmondson Park to increase the spatial effectiveness and amend the land use and density controls for development in Edmondson Park.
The Development Control Plan No 61 Edmondson Park provides objectives and controls which will be used to assess the range of development within Edmondson Park. The development control plan came into force on 9 May 2008 with Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 1997 Draft Amendment No 114.
