Transporting of Loads

Safe loading of vehicles and restraint of loads are important in preventing injury to people and damage to property.

  • Ensure each load you transport is covered or restrained. Uncovered loads can spill onto the road and create litter and pollution;
  • Heavy objects, such as bricks, rocks, tree trunks, furniture and other items can dislodge and cause an accident or damage other vehicles on the road;
  • Loose bulk loads, such as soil and dirt, can blow from a vehicle and result in air pollution;
  • Items that protrude must be flagged and are limited as to how far they may protrude.
