The Management of Construction and Demolition Waste

new waste management planS are now available online!

All construction and demolition activities within the Liverpool LGA are now required to submit a Waste Management Plan with the Development Application. The plan requires the applicant to inform council how much waste they estimate will be generated, the type of waste, the end destination and the transporter. This information must be supplied for demolition, construction and ongoing waste management.

The Waste Management Plan must be implemented on site and a Waste Data File kept containing all waste and recycling receipts or dockets together with a copy of the WMP. This documentation must be produced if a council officer requests it.

The Waste Management Plan allows council to be able to track the ultimate destination of the materials produced on site. In addition to conserving landfill space, this process will help minimise the amount of illegal waste dumping associated with the construction and demolition industry and maximise resource recovery.
