liverpool's biggest ever GARAGE sale!

In Liverpool, the Garage Sale Trail was a success!
There were 181 registered garage sales!

On Saturday 5 May 2012, thousands of Aussies came together to meet their neighbours to help find a home for pre-loved goods that would of been sent to landfill.

Liverpool City Council was one of 26 forward thinking Councils Australia-wide that supported the Garage Sale Trail, a national-wide initiative promoting recycling, re-using and reducing the amount of household items being sent to landfill.

At final count, there were 7983 registered garage sales Australia-wide and 181 garage sales in Liverpool. Liverpool City Council would like to thank all participants for their wonderful effort and support!

The Garage Sale Trail event was an incredible day and it was a great way for neighbours to meet and have a little fun too!

What is the Garage Sale Trail?

The Garage Sale Trail is a mission to help promote recycling and sustainability, to bring people together and to have a little fun!

Liverpool City Council invited all residents across Liverpool host their own garage sale all at the same day on Saturday 5 May with the aim to have as many garage sales as possible encourage recycling, re-using and reducing the amount of household items being sent to landfill. It was free to register and included adverising.

The Mayor of Liverpool City Council Wendy Waller, Garage Sale Trail ambassadors Michael Caton, Dave Rastonvich, Marnie Skillings, Sibella Court, Liane Rossler, Pip Edwards, Tracey Spicer, Brendan Moar and Jay Laga'aia will be supporting Australia’s largest ever coordinated garage sale.
