Liverpool City Council is working with car share provider GoGet to trial car sharing in the Liverpool city centre, providing additional transport options for residents and workers while reducing congestion.
Carshare members are able to use a share vehicle at an hourly or flat day rate, making it a cost-effective alternative to owning a private vehicle or renting from a traditional car hire company.
Car sharing enables local businesses and community organisations to reduce the cost of car or fleet ownership.
Each share car has potential to remove 10 cars from the road.
GoGet is following Australian Government Department of Health guidelines and cleaning its vehicles each fortnight. GoGet members are encouraged to practise good hygiene by wiping down the car’s main touch points (such as the handles, steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake) between uses.
