An elegant, fun-filled soirée to say ‘Thank You’ to Liverpool’s finest
Now, we are in the privileged position to resume some of the activities we missed out on last year.
In response to the hardship faced by so many, and the valiant efforts from special members of our community, Liverpool City Council’s Charity Ball has been reimagined into a series of ‘Thank You’ events. These events will acknowledge and commend non-for-profit heroes and our local frontline workers who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe.
The first event will be the Thank You Gala Dinner to be held on Saturday 17 July at the Liverpool Catholic Club. This will be a fun and exciting soirée combining fundraising with delicious food, live entertainment, and dancing.

Dress code: Black-tie
Delicious food, live entertainment, giveaways, and, of course, fundraising will still be on the menu with this year’s funds raised from the Thank You Gala Dinner going towards helping some of our most vulnerable in our community.
Tickets include canapés on arrival, an exclusive three-course dining experience, beverages package, live entertainment, and above all, a guarantee of a fantastic night on the town, all while supporting a worthwhile cause.

Liverpool City Councillors have endorsed two organisations working in the Liverpool area to receive funds raised at Council’s Thank You Gala Dinner – CNA-Italian Australian Services and Welfare Centre (NSW) Inc. and The Salvation Army.
CNA-Italian Australian Services and Welfare Centre (NSW) Inc. provides crucial support for new migrants of all ages including centre-based care and social support for seniors of a culturally diverse background, an information service for new migrants and an Italian language and culture school for students from K-12.
Funds raised at the Thank You Gala Dinner will help them deliver a project to empower isolated and vulnerable seniors to live with greater independence while improving their wellbeing, teaching them skills in cooking, gardening and arts and crafts.
The Salvation Army works to feed and nourish the most vulnerable in our community through its breakfast and lunch service, as well as providing relief hampers to those facing extreme hardship or crisis.

Is there parking? / How do I get there?
There is free parking at the venue as well as a passenger drop-off zone.
Please be responsible if you are drinking and driving. Consider getting a taxi or using a rideshare service to get home safely.
Alternatively, book a night at Mercure Sydney Liverpool for yourself and any guests. Event attendees will receive a 12 percent discount courtesy of the hotel.
Is there disabled access / parking at this event?

Are there ATMs at the venue?
There are ATMs located at the venue. You will also be able to purchase beverages and participate in fundraising activity using a debit or credit card.
Are there vegan / vegetarian / gluten-free options?

Can I smoke at the event?
Smoking, including by way of electronic cigarettes or vaporisers, is only permitted in the designated smoking area.
Will I be searched upon entry?
Please check our ‘prohibited items’ list below to ensure you are aware of what not to bring to our event.
For safety reasons, Council staff, event crew and security reserve the right to check your bags upon entry and during the event and will confiscate any prohibited items such as alcohol.
What items are prohibited?
Items prohibited at the Thank You Gala Dinner include:
- Alcohol and illicit substances of any kind;
- Glass bottles, glassware or breakable containers;
- Weapons of any kind, including any item that can be used as a projectile;
- Knives or scissors;
- Cameras and recording devices for commercial use (unless approved by Council); and
- Other items deemed by security or event coordinators as having potential to cause injury or public nuisance.
Can I take photos / film at the event?
Photos can be taken for personal use. Professional photography (including the use of tripods for safety reasons) will not be permitted on the night without prior consent from Liverpool City Council’s Communications team. In 2019, the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research received $50,000 from Liverpool City Council Charity Ball proceeds, supporting their student-focused programs.
The Charity Ball took inspiration from the beauty, bustle and bright lights of Tokyo, Japan. More than 300 guests were treated to a swathe of delicious Japanese-influenced food, beverages and live entertainment, including taiko drumming.
