International Day of People Living with Disability
International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is held on 3 December each year.
IDPwD is a United Nations observed day aimed at increasing public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
The Australian Government has been supporting IDPwD since 1996 and provides funds to promote and raise awareness of the day and support activities around Australia.
In 2021 Liverpool City Council will be celebrating through the showcase of performances in the theatre at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre on the 2nd of December 2021. The performances will be from 11-12pm and are expected to be 3-5 minutes long. Performances can be song, music, dance, comedy, theatrics…hula hooping! All expressions are welcomed.
