Desexing Your Pet

Desexing

Desexing is a common surgical procedure that permanently sterilises male and female animals and is an important part of responsible pet ownership.

Benefits of Desexing your pet:

  • When desexed, your pet is less likely to suffer from certain illnesses such as mammary cancer and uterine infections in females, and prostate problems in males.
  • Desexing reduces behavioural problems such as roaming, aggression and marking.
  • Desexing prevents unwanted litters and helps reduce the amount of animals ending up in shelters.
  • If your pet is desexed, you qualify for discounts to lifetime registration and for cat owners, will mean you are not required to may for annual permits.
