The magic of a European winter is set to enchant Liverpool when Winter Blast European Festival sparkles into Macquarie Mall!

Journey to a dazzling winter wonderland under the stars with an outdoor ice-skating rink*, cascading snow and delicious winter warmers to delight your taste buds.

There will also be heaps of children’s activities, roving performers and much more.

*The ice-skating rink will operate across the winter school holidays until Sunday 16 June with an array of sessions available, including disco nights on the weekend and themed dress up days for the kids.

Grab a winter warmer at our winter wonderland bar with an array of winter cocktails to choose from. There will also be roving performers and acoustic music to enjoy throughout the night.

There will be ample parking available near Macquarie Mall. We also encourage attendees to walk to site or use public transport.

Liverpool Plaza Carpark – on-site. Free parking for 1.5 hours.

Bathurst Street Carpark – approx. 2 min. walk to site. Free after 6pm.

Warren Serviceway – approx. 5 min walk to site.

The Promotion commences on 22/06/2023 at 14:00 AEST and entries close 29/06/2023 14:00 AEST. For conditions of entry, see below.

Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into this competition is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Entry is only open to all permanent residents of Australia
  2. Enter by tagging a friend on Council’s Facebook and Instagram competition post; Entries are limited to persons 18 years and over.
  3. The prize is 2 x family ice skating passes that can be used at Winter Blast Ice Skating Rink for the duration of the 2023 school holiday program.
  4. A total of 3 prizes will be drawn in the promotion period, with winners drawn on Thursday 29  June 2023.
  5. The winners will be notified in writing on the social media channel they entered the competition.
  6. Winners will be sent the promotional code that they can use to obtain the family skating passes.
  7. Employees and their immediate families of Liverpool City Council and their agencies and companies associated with the Promotion are ineligible to enter.
  8. Liverpool City Council shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  9. Any tax liability arising as a result of accepting any prize is the responsibility of the winner.
  10. The prize is not redeemable for cash or an alternative prize.
  11. The prize is not transferable.

When is the Winter Blast European Night Markets?

The Winter Blast Night Markets is on Friday 30th June, Saturday 1st July and Sunday 2nd July from 3pm to 9pm. This will include the activities, food vendors, ice skating rink and entertainment. This event will close on the Sunday and ONLY ice-skating rink will remain open over the school holidays.

Is the Winter Blast European Night Market event free entry?

Yes, entry to this event is completely free, only ice skating is a ticketed cost.

When is the ice-skating rink open?

The ice-skating rink will be open on the following dates:

Winter Blast European Night Markets – Friday 30th June, Saturday 1st July and Sunday 2nd July from 3pm to 9pm

School Holidays Ice-Skating –

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday open from 10am to 4pm (last session commences at 3pm) Friday, Saturday and Sunday open from 10am to 9pm (last session commences at 8:15pm)

Where can I get tickets?

Tickets for the ice-skating rink are purchased online here -https://events.humanitix.com/tours/winterblast-2023

Or tickets can be purchased at the rink with EFTPOS or cash however only if spots are available. You will need to site the waiver and terms and conditions before purchasing.

What are the fees for the ice-skating rink?

30min and 45min sessions:

Adult (17+) - $ 18.00Child (5 – 17) - $15.00
Toddler (3 -4) – Free *must be purchased with an adult
Family Pass (2 Adult & 2 Kids or 1 Adult & 3 kids) - $50.00
Dolphin Assist - $8.00

The last day for ice-skating is Sunday 16th July and the event will be closing on this date.

What time can I get there?

For the ice-skating rink you will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to your allocated session time. However the event itself you can arrive anytime to enjoy the event on Friday 30th June, Saturday 1st July and Sunday 2nd July.

Will I be searched upon entry?

For safety reasons, Council staff, event crew and security reserve the right to check your bags upon entry. Please check our ‘prohibited items’ list below to ensure you are aware of what not to bring to the event.

Can we bring our own food?

You sure can, but why would you? There will be plenty of tasty and affordable food options that cater for every dietary requirement. Food items will be priced to suit a family-friendly budget.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

Bringing your own alcohol is not permitted and will be confiscated if found on your person.

Can I smoke at the event?

Smoking will not be permitted outside of the designated smoking areas at the event.

What items are prohibited?  

Items prohibited at Winter blast include:

  • Alcohol and illicit substances of any kind;
  • Glass bottles, glassware or breakable containers;
  • Eskies, barbeques or shade structures;
  • Weapons of any kind, including any item that can be used as a projectile;
  • Knives or Scissors;
  • Fireworks, sparklers or flares;
  • Laser pointers;
  • Drones or any other remote-controlled device;
  • Bicycles, Scooters, Skateboards or skates;
  • Animals (excluding service animals);
  • Cameras and recording devices for commercial use (unless approved by Council); and
  • Other items deemed by security, police or event coordinators as having potential to cause injury or public nuisance.
  • Can I bring my dog to the event?
  • Dogs are allowed on site so long as they are kept on a leash and are well behaved. Council will not tolerate any aggressive behaviour or excessive barking and owners must clean up after their pets. If this is not adhered to, Council staff reserve the right to remove dogs from the event site at any time.

Can I take photos / film at the event?

Yes, photos can be taken for personal use. In fact, we encourage you to capture your memories of the night and post your social media profiles using the hashtag #lovelivo. We’ll send you some love and reshare the best snaps on our socials.

Professional photography (including the use of tripods for safety reasons) will not be permitted on the night without prior consent from Liverpool City Council’s Communications team.

Will vendors accept cash?  

We strongly recommend you use a credit or debit card to purchase refreshments. Vendors will have EFTPOS facilities available.

There are multiple ATMs available on-site. All vendors will also have EFTPOS facilities available.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of heavy rain, Council may choose to postpone or cancel an event. Notification will be provided via Council’s social media channels.

Media accreditation?

Can I apply to be a stallholder?
