Transforming a Park into Place - Have Your Say on the Woodward Place Masterplan

For communities to thrive and grow, they must be supported by innovation, accessibility and inspiring facilities. Woodard Place defines what Liverpool needs, transforming a park into a place and thus orienting a heart and hub for the future.

The Woodward Place Masterplan demonstrates how Woodward Park will become Woodward Place by enhancing and building on the existing character and uses of the site. The 28-hectare site offers Council a significant opportunity to create an iconic lifestyle precinct which will be known as Woodward Place. The site is currently home to Whitlam Leisure Centre, netball courts, football fields and a range of community services and facilities.

Council has developed the Masterplan to deliver a world-class refurbishment and reconfiguration of these facilities to support a healthy, diverse population and significant population increase, estimated to take place in Liverpool and greater Sydney regions in the next 15 years. The Masterplan is an aspirational 30-year vision for the site, focusing on principles of city image, community connection, history, green space, interaction, recreation and an 18-hour city.

This project is now on public exhibition with Council in the process of gathering community feedback on the Masterplan, how facilities are currently being used and ideas for the future of Woodward Place.
