Miller Shopping Precinct, Miller Implementation of 40km/h High Pedestrian Activity Area

Council has received funding from the Transport for NSW under its Safer Speeds in High Pedestrian Activity and Local Areas program for the 2023-24 financial year to implement 40km/h speed zone on Woodward Crescent, Lady Woodward Place and sections of Cartwright Avenue and Shropshire Street, Miller.

This is to create a slow speed environment and to improve road safety around Miller shopping and services precinct.

The implementation requires installation of number of traffic devices and ‘40km/hr High Pedestrian Activity Area (HPAA)’ signs to self-regulate the new speed limit on the above mentioned street sections. These streets within the shopping and services precinct and attracts high pedestrian movements.

The works are scheduled to commence in May 2024 and to be completed by June 2024.

Details of the approved traffic devices including locations, signs and linemarkings are indicated in the attached plans.

Council has implemented similar treatments at number of other shopping precincts in its LGA. Council has approved the implementation on the recommendations of Liverpool Local Traffic Committee.
