Below you will find descriptions for some of our childcare roles, this list is not exhaustive but it is meant to give you an idea of the responsibilities of a childcare worker.

As a Early Childhood Teacher you will be required to provide expertise in the design, implementation and evaluation of high quality educational programmes for children in care and collaborate with centre teams to ensure the effective daily operation of a child care service.

You will have experience in mentoring and supporting staff to develop and deliver educations programs, develop, implement and evaluate early childhood educational programs based upon the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) , preparing reports and documentation and leading staff and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies within the childcare environment.

Creating a safe, supporting, stimulating and educational environment for children and the inclusion of programmes for children with additional needs, and ensuring programme reflects the five outcomes of the EYLF for each child, incorporates diversity and is inclusive of all children and is meaningful for children.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Early Childhood Teaching
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • This position requires accreditation recognised by the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES)
  • Supervisor Approval Number (must be able to meet the minimum prescribed requirements for a supervisor certificate under the National Education and Care Services Regulations).
  • This position requires Working With Children Check.

As a Childcare Diploma you will ensure the effective daily operation of the service, assist in the planning, programming, implementing and evaluating high quality programmes for children.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs that reflect current approaches/theories of early childhood education and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies within the childcare environment. Supporting the inclusion of families, children and the local community into centre programs and implementing practices that build positive relationships/partnerships.

Working to continually meet the National Quality Standards, implement the National Quality Framework, and apply the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) in all practices and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) as per ACECQA approved qualifications.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Supervisor Approval Number (must be able to meet the minimum prescribed requirements for a supervisor certificate under the National Education and Care Services Regulations).
  • This position requires Working With Children Check.

As a Childcare Assistant you will provide assistance, in conjunction with the centre team, with the effective daily operation of the childcare centre.

You will be responsible for assisting all centre employees in the implementation of programs and childcare service and supporting fellow workers in the provision of a safe, stimulating, educational environment for all children attending the centre, Complying with and implementing all regulatory, legislative requirements and industry standards,maintaining centre educational philosophy and all Council policies/procedures and providing a positive role model for children, families and visitors at the centre.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of Certificate III in Children's Services, and Child Protection Training approved and recognised by by NSW Community Services.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • This position requires Working With Children Check.

As a Childcare Cook you will provide nutritious and hygienically prepared meals at the child care centre, and maintain a hygienic kitchen/ equipment in accordance with current food safety standards, national regulations and relevant health regulations. You will need experience in planning and delivering nutritionally based meals that are culturally and dietary appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Accredited food safety/food handling course, nutrition and menu planning course.
  • This position requires Working With Children Check.

As a Trainee you will be working with Centre Educators and support fellow workers to provide a safe, stimulating and educational environment for all children attending the centre. The traineeship is for a period of 12 months which will include both work and training to gain a Certificate III in Children’s Services through the registered training organisation,  NSW TAFE.

Qualifications

  • To be eligible to apply for the position of Trainee you must not already possess a Certificate III (in any field) or higher qualification and be a minimum of 16 years of age (Legislative Requirement).
