Edmondson Park, located in the Liverpool and Campbelltown Local Government Areas, was rezoned for urban development in 2008. It was one of the first areas to be planned in the NSW Government’s South West Growth Area.

Over the next 10-15 years the suburb will become home to approximately 25,000 new residents, who will live in about 8200 homes. Edmondson Park will offer an urban lifestyle with plenty of open green spaces to encourage cycling and walking. The area is well supported by public transport with several regional bus routes and direct train services from Edmondson Park Station connecting to key regional job hubs of Liverpool and Parramatta, as well as direct services to the Sydney CBD.

The privately developed town centre, known as Ed.Square, will include a fresh food market hall and supermarket, eat street, shops, a cinema and medical centre.

To determine the zoning of your land, please perform an address search on Council’s ePlanning portal. To confirm the zoning it is recommended you obtain a Section 10.7 Certificate (Planning Certificate) from Council.

Planning the future of Edmondson Park

Council is responsible for delivering stormwater infrastructure, most public open spaces, some roads and community facilities in new precincts. The delivery of such infrastructure is prioritised on the infrastructure’s ability to open up land for development, namely stormwater and road infrastructure, and proximity to established residences for open space and community facility works. Council’s exhibitions and notices page and Current Major Works pages will list parks and community facilities to be delivered by Council.

Open space planning and delivery in Edmondson Park and East Leppington

Edmondson Park continues to grow and develop, and Liverpool City Council is progressing the planning, design and delivery of public open spaces and recreation facilities to support the needs of the existing and future community.

The Edmondson Park and East Leppington Open Space Planning and Delivery Map has been prepared to provide residents with a clear overview of the current status of open space projects across the two suburbs. The map identifies existing parks and recreation spaces, open spaces currently being planned or delivered, and land identified for future open space in accordance with the relevant planning frameworks.

Delivery of open space across Edmondson Park occurs progressively and is influenced by a range of factors, including land acquisition, development activity, infrastructure coordination, project planning and design, funding availability and Council’s delivery priorities.

Information on key projects, including planning, design and delivery updates, is provided below and will continue to be updated as projects progress.
