Edmondson Park was rezoned for urban development in 2008 and was one of the first areas to be planned in the NSW Government’s South West Sydney Priority Growth Area.
Moorebank Intermodal Company (MIC) is a wholly owned Australian Government entity established to facilitate the development of an intermodal terminal at Moorebank, a nationally significant infrastructure project that will help Sydney manage the expected growth in freight moving through the city.
Western Sydney International Airport
Liverpool is the Gateway City to Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek. Liverpool will be a source of workers during construction and operational phases of Sydney's second international airport which is due to open in 2026.
Sydney's Third CBD
The rezoning of 25 hectares in the heart of Liverpool will reinvigorate the CBD and allow the construction of multi-purpose buildings that could include cafes, bars and restaurants, retail, child care, office space and residential uses.

Liverpool City Council has welcomed the commitment of four Australian universities to develop a world-leading Aerospace, Engineering and Science Innovation Hub in the Badgerys Creek Aerotropolis.
